Who We Work For
Who KBK Works For, and What Each Group Usually Needs
Homeowners generally come to KBK for project work: a landscape design and installation, a paver patio or retaining wall through hardscaping, a new lawn by sod, hydroseeding or straw seeding, or grading and drainage work to fix water sitting where it should not. These are one-off jobs with a defined start and finish, and every one of them is quoted free after a site visit.
Commercial and municipal clients more often want a contract. Commercial lawn care keeps a property on a predictable weekly cycle through the growing season, and commercial snow removal keeps the same lots and walkways clear and treated through the winter, on 24-hour call. Both of these are business-to-business services — KBK does not offer routine residential mowing or residential driveway plowing.
Developers, land owners and municipalities use specialty services: field and roadside mowing on acreage, lot and brush clearing ahead of a build or a sale, and the grading and drainage work that has to happen before anything else can. General project-based landscaping spans all three groups.
How a KBK Project Starts
Every quote begins with someone walking the property. Soil, existing grade, how water currently moves across the site, access for equipment and what is already in the ground all change the scope, and none of them are visible from an aerial image. That visit is free and carries no obligation; the one exception is an on-site landscape design appointment, which is a $250 charge.
KBK Landscaping Inc. has operated out of Saline since 1998 with roughly 25 staff and a fully owned equipment fleet, serving Ann Arbor, Saline, Ypsilanti, Dexter, Scio Township, Milan, Canton and the rest of Washtenaw County. Owning the machines rather than renting them is why a grading job can happen in the two dry days a Michigan spring offers, and why snow crews go out on a forecast instead of a phone call.
